Who is behind this?
My name is Bloyd; I was born on the island of Margarita in Venezuela, and at an early age my family and I moved to the city of Mérida-- a city surrounded by mountains up to 15,000 feet high with glaciers and great biodiversity. It was there that I developed my passion for mountaineering, hiking, rock climbing, and mountain biking.
I would describe myself as outgoing, passionate, adventurous, determined, and smiling; I am one who has always traced their own path, and I am one of those who believe that we must rebuild ourselves whenever we can, and in order to do so, we must even destroy ourselves a little.
I was traveling slowly through the American continent with my backpack for a few years, and one of the places I visited was Sayulita, a place from which I left and returned several times before finally making it my home. What I love most about Sayulita is the freshness it brings to my life; it is a small but cosmopolitan town at the same time, and there are people from all over the world coming and going, sharing their experiences and anecdotes. In Sayulita we forget that the days of the week have names, and we also forget the barriers that may exist to relate or seperate us. I like the jungle, hidden beaches, and Sayulita’s wonderful trails, food, and streets.
For about a decade I felt great admiration for people who ran; a pair of shoes, shorts and running free…”wow, how simple,” I thought. I tried to go on runs several times, but I always felt some discomfort, pain, or simply laziness, which made me abandon it and continue with other passions. However, I quickly decided to "force" myself to go on runs, as I knew the best places for where to run in Sayulita, and thus I started incorporating running into my daily life.
How did I do it? I created a platform for people who may wonder where to run in Sayulita?, so that they can find a pace partner for the distance or time that they want, that will take them to run through the best unknown trails between jungle, beaches, alleys, and mountains. Having this platform and realizing there were others who wanted to run and know where to run in Sayulita was the motivating factor for me to incorporate running into my life.
When I met Kaj, our first formal client, he was great! He ran fast, which helped me to push myself, and he felt a deep passion for running, which motivated me to be even better. This type of contagious passion and motivation has occurred on many other runs with many other runners with which I got to share experiences with. Because of this, I knew that Sayulita Running Experience was the perfect fuel for my life, and that I could help spread this passion and motivation to others looking for where to run in Sayulita.
